Pet-riotic Sentiment Patriotic pets help homeless pets. Pets across America can show off their pet-riotism with a new red, white and blue USA Patriotic Pet Flag Tag Medallion and help raise funds to save homeless animals. Designed by the United Pet Way, a non-profit no-kill animal welfare organization dedicated to helping homeless pets, the official Patriotic Pet Tag Medallion is available at www.unitedpetway.org. Pets who wear the Medallion will be national heroes, said Brenda Beck, founder/president of the United Pet Way. (PRNewsFoto)
Extraterrestrial Dwarf? Stitch, the mischievous extraterrestrial who stars in Disney's summer animated release, "Lilo & Stitch," makes an unexpected appearance on the spot usually occupied by an 18-foot statue of Dopey on the Team Disney Building in Burbank. Coming to theaters everywhere on June 21st, "Lilo & Stitch" follows the imaginative and offbeat tale of a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly "dog" who in reality is a genetic experiment from an alien planet that has crash-landed on Earth. Research to be published in the March 26, 2002 issue of Neurology conducted by a National Tropical Botanical Garden investigator suggests a possible link between flying fox consumption and a high incidence of central nervous system disease in Guam.
