Canadian Tribute                                                      Three months after Sept. 11, Canadians pay tribute to the 427 police, fire and emergency workers who died at the Bowling Green Christmas Tree in New York on Monday, Dec. 10, 2001. The tree is decorated with 427 silver angels made from silver in Scotiabank's World Trade Center vault. A box of 13 angels will be presented to Prime Minister Jean Chretien.   Queer as Folk                                                          "Queer as Folk," Showtime's highest rated original primetime series, returns for its second season on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT). It focuses on the relationships, careers, loves and ambitions of a group of young gay men and lesbians living in Pittsburgh, Pa.   Barely Bear                                                                             Microsoft Game Studios announced on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, that Magnet, The Baltimore Zoo's 800-pound polar bear, iced the competition in the "Zoo Tycoon" Beast in Show campaign. After he was declared America's favorite zoo animal, Magnet devoured a celebratory "ice cake" featuring fish, lard, bamboo and fruit. Magnet was awarded an honorary position as a Microsoft Tundra Trend Technician and a $20,000 contribution to the zoo. Magnet will be featured for download in the "Zoo Tycoon" PC game, where players build and maintain the ultimate zoo.
