Sculpture
Unveiled

headquarters
on
Wednesday,
Dec.5,
2001,
to
unveil
a
model
of
the
sculpture
"Volunteer
Rising,"
designed
by
the
Royal
Canadian
Mint
and
dedicated
to
international
volunteerism.
They
marked
the
closing
of
the
U.N.
"International
Year
of
Volunteers"
and
honored
a
group
of
volunteers
who
served
at
Ground
Zero
after
the
Sept.
11
attacks
in
New
York.
The
full
size
sculpture
will
be
installed
at
UNV
headquarters
in
Bonn,
Germany,
in
Spring
2002.
